Survey Says…. It’s the Cable

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

I have a fairly modest middle-class home. Attached to the main structure is a 14′x22′ family room. This is where we watch television. We have cable television, which means that a coax cable runs from the services closet (cable, water, electrical) across the whole main structure of the house, approx. 33′, across […]

And Yet… A Cure

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

Wouldn’t you know it. No sooner do I write about having the blahs, then my son climbs into my lap, which he hasn’t done in months, snuggles up and falls asleep. I thought those days were done. Perhaps my ability to see into the future is far less accurate than I thought.

The Blahs

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

Well, it’s been a while since my last post. Frankly, I couldn’t be bothered to write anything. I’ve been hit with a case of the blahs. Write code? Blah. Write fiction? Blah. Go to work? Blah. Well, I have to force myself to do that last one, […]

CSS Fun

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

I did some site tweakage today. I matched the banner color with the link color and I removed the top binary stream graphic. The remaining graphic, if the browser supports it, scrolls across the page to the left. This was done using a Javascript interval timer and changing the background-position CSS property. […]

Apple’s Worm

New card story in development. It’s only taken me a few months to get started on it.

Space… the Final Frontier

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

Well, not quite. It’s more like: kenware… the final migration.
I’ve redirected the old server scripts to point to the effluency.net scripts. Log files have been moved. Everything seems to be working. Hopefully, the scripts in the new space also work.
I’ve rewritten some of my Perl web service stuff in Ruby. […]
