Touching Base

I’ve been pretty quiet here, but things haven’t been elsewhere in my life.

I turned 40 on October 29th. That adversely affected my mood quite a bit. Things have gotten busier both at work and at home and I’ve resurrected an old piece of fiction that I had let die on the Barscape forum. After a nine month hiatus, I got some more ideas that they’ve just been flowing ever since. Unfortunately, it’s impacted the other projects that I have going.

Toilet training has begun at my house. David is taking to it pretty well, at least half of it. He’s enthused and handling it quite well, but we’ve switched to pull-ups after he soiled half a dozen pairs of underwear. He doesn’t seem to be aware of any activity in that area.

The SpedPAC 5K Walk netted us $9300. That is excellent news and, hopefully, should improve our status within the school community. It’s sad that it takes money to improve one’s position in the politics of the town. You’d think that special education would get more support than that. Unfortunately, it looks more and more like special ed is an issue that people would ignore than address.
